Datca Peninsula – Your Itinerary
For this Budget Gulets cruise you will head down the Datça peninsula and visit many ancient villages along the way as well as relaxing on and in the crystal waters of the Aegean, a truly relaxing cruise, see the itinerary below and we will show you the way:
Day 1 Marmaris
Once you arrive in Marmaris, you will make your way to the Yacht Marina and be escorted to your Gulet (Airport Transfers can be booked through us on request). Depending on your flight time, after you have checked in you are likely to have free time before and after dinner to explore the local town, the bustling bazaar and the cosmopolitan marina. Dinner will be served onboard the Gulet and you will also stay overnight at Marmaris port onboard your home for the week.
Day 2 Arap Island - Bozukkale
For your first day of sailing we set sail for Arap Island, where you can have a swim and lunch will be served. Moving on to Bozukkale, the ancient Loryma, where you will be visiting the remains of the fortress. Surfing, swimming and diving are all possible from the beautiful cove of Bozukkale.Day 3 Datça
After breakfast you will set sail to Datça. This is one of many fascinating small towns in Turkey and the nearest town to Knidos - an ancient city. You will have the chance to visit Knidos as an optional excursion, this will be while the boat stocks up on various supplies. The gulet will moor for the night in Datça or one of the nearby bays.
Day 4 Aktur - Bencik
You will head for Aktur first thing in the morning. After Lunch you will cross over to the northern coast of the gulf. You will stop at Bencik Bay (Bencik meaning where the fish jump over) a narrow inlet which cuts the Datça Peninsula almost in half. This is where you will stay overnight.Day 5 Selimiye - Orhaniye
Heading deep into the Hisarönü Gulf, you anchor for lunch in either Selimiye or Orhaniye bay. Behind the village there is an ancient acropolis, crowned by the ruins of a medieval castle. Further up in the hill there is a waterfall that you might like to visit. There is also the option of a jeep tour here to one of the quaint little local villages.Day 6 Dirsek Buku - Bozburun
After breakfast you will set sail for Dirsek Buku and the bay of Bozburun. You are welcome here to try your hand at managing the ship under full sails, don't worry you will be under the guidance of the skipper. Bozburun is a quiet little fishing village. It used to be the centre for sponge picking along the Turkish coast, but nowadays people here earn their living in a much less dangerous way by building the typical broad-beamed wooden boats called "Gulets". You will overnight in one of the bays of Bozburun.
Day 7 Kadirga - Marmaris
During the morning you will set sail for Kadirga or Kumlubuk where the crystal Aegean waters are perfect for a morning swim. After lunch we visit Paradise Island before your gulet heads back to Maramris Marina. A farewell dinner will be served on board the boat - after which you might like to head ashore for a few drinks or some last minute shopping before spending your last night on aboard your gulet moored in Marmaris Marina .Day 8 Disembarkation
The crew will serve breakfast before you disembark at around 10am.Please note:
The captain may change the route due to weather conditions. There will be plenty of swim stops everyday for you to take the opportunity to swim, snorkel and fish in the crystal blue waters of the Aegean.The Datça Peninsula Gulet cruise sets sail every Saturday, so you will need to arrive on the Saturday of your cruise for your first night on the gulet.
